GTR24h 12 Hours of Sebring 2019 – 1 car spot

32.00

The 12 hours of Sebring is one of the most legendary sports car races in the world. Held on a flat World War II B17 bomber airfield in Florida USA, you would be forgiven for thinking the racing is boring. But the layout features most of the original near 80-year-old concrete surface with only a few tarmac patches. The bumpiness of the racing surface produces one of the most mechanically abrasive race tracks in the world. What’s hard on cars also challenges the drivers and teams. Setup is a big compromise between softening the bumps with soft springs and low dampening shock absorbers vs. direct control and agility of the race cars.

Then there are the corners and long straights. Every lap features 3 straights with good overtaking opportunities. Faster classes normally don’t have to spend too long behind slower traffic. At the same time, this layout lends itself to drafting manoeuvres. It’s never easy to pull away from the competitor you just overtook on the last straight, making it likely for the car to attempt a re-pass in the next braking zone. Then there are the corners. Very few feature static radii and either tighten or open up through the corner. This makes it hard to determine the optimal apex and creates multiple racing lines through the corners. This fact creates perfect conditions for prolonged close racing.

Description

It’s in the interest of every participating team to generate as much attention around the race as possible. But if only one team or person shares, we will not get the synergy effect going. This is why we decided to set up requirements for participation. With everyone sharing information about the race your team will not only benefit from your own followers and friends but from the 59 other teams friends and followers as well.

Requirements

  • Teams must register and email address during the ticket ordering process which they check regularly. The email address used when ordering team tickets will be the main point of contact for all information coming from the organization to the teams.
  • During the event, you and your team must share the official Twitch live stream link for the race (https://twitch.tv/gtr24horg) at least three times. Preferably at the beginning of qualifying, beginning of the race and half time of the race. On most social media you can set this up to be done automatically using scheduled posts.
  • Teams and team members must read and accept the official rules of the event found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ftZ5jbWSjM-KDloCV0Ukh0bzOktl8fuh_PnrXiXIFN0. additional addendum for online races will be available on a later date.
