Nürburgring 24 Hours 2020

Tradition dictates special GTR24H events and no track or race is more special than long-distance endurance racing on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. Last year this was the race that teams cherished the most. The challenge of surviving 24 hours in The Green Hell is something to brag about on its own. On top of this, the track is a tremendous joy to just do practice runs on. The amount of driving joy this track provides is unparalleled. So naturally, we had to do a special event resembling the Nürburgring 24 Hours. And now that the real-life race is sadly postponed to September and we are all lacking some proper motorsport entertainment, what better date than the original weekend of the real-life race?

The race will take place in the weekend 23rd – 24th of May. With qualifying starting Friday, May 22nd at 20.00 CEST.

We also decided to do something a little more special this year. And since the real-life race has like a million classes and 200+ participating cars we took a look at the DLC shelves of Studio 397 and came up with this:

Top class resembling the real-life SP9 will be all of the original Studio 397 GT3 cars.
The BMW M2 with its 3-litre turbo engine will be in the SP8T class.
The third class is the obvious choice of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Endurance Spec which represents the SP7 class.

The race will be live-streamed on Facebook, YouTube and Twitch with full commentary. This will include lead-in and follow up with interviews.

You will find the rules for the race in the GTR24H sporting regulations and a special addendum for this race at the end of the document.

So, what are you waiting for?
