In May 2020 the Observer has Amazon Prime Video as the world’s second-largest video streaming service with 150 million global subscribers.

If you are a petrol head like us, you will also know Amazon Prime Video as the home of The Grand Tour. The TV-Show hosted by former BBC Top Gear hosts James May, Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson.

Today GTR24H joins The Grand Tour with a New Partnership Agreement with English Media Company “Film Volt Ltd” who will be developing a bespoke GTR24H Channel for
Amazon, Roku Amazon Fire TV and Sports International TV.

On the GTR24H Channel, worldwide subscribers will be able to watch the entire 2020 Sprint Race season on-demand. Add to this the whole EEWC season and Nürburgring Special Event race. All available directly on TV sets, smart-devices, and computers around the world. The remaining two races of the Sprint Series will be sent live. All practice, qualifying, pre-race content, interviews and the Le Mans 24-Hour race, will be transmitted live.

Together with the ESR Network deal, this means GTR24H content potentially reaches more than 300 million households worldwide. The effect of this in terms of visibility for sim racing cannot be ignored.

For GTR24H and our teams, this will have immediate and significant consequences. First of all, all sales of single race tickets and seasons tickets for the Le Mans race and the 2021 season are put on hold. The entire premise and way teams sign up with us is being completely overhauled from the bottom up. If you are a team captain, you will be notified as soon as possible with instructions in this regard.
