SimSports Racing International’s Clio Cup resumes its season with a visit to the fictitious (and very scenic) Scottish countryside of Bannochbrae for its third installment.
Thruxton in Hampshire was the opening round, withCroft circuit near Darlington playing host for round two. Now we head to the track that was introduced into the sim racing world by Slightly Mad Studios in Project CARS 1.
The series sees a qualifying session for race one, with the grid for race two being formed from the finishing order of the previous race, except the top ten are reversed, so finishing tenth in will put said driver on pole for race two.
Looking at results alone, the series so far has been a whitewash from Max Maas of Callipygian Racing, having won all four races so far, but that does not tell the full story, as he hasn’t had everything his own way.
Tom O’Farrell in the 2F Motor Racing Team has been his main rival thus far, chasing Maas home in both races at Croft, and scoring a podium at Thruxton to put him just 27 points behind.
Justin Wellbelove of JW Designs is third, just ten behind O’Farrell, having seen the podium twice so far in the series.
Will Maas continue is domination at the top, or will the less familiar surroundings of Bannochbrae break the strangle hold that Maas has on the series?
The only way to find out is to tune in on the broadcast held at 7.30PM UK time on SSRIs YouTube channel.
