rFactor 2 European Hillclimb Championship kicks of at GTR24h

You might already have seen the teaser pictures and the news on GTR24h SoMe in the last month – yes u read it right the rFactor2 European Hillclimb Championship by John Papas is coming to GTR24H and we will be going live already on Monday 24th of May at 22:00/10:00 PM CEST. The first round-up of the Championship will take us to the 5080 metres long St. Jean-Du-Gard- Col St. Pierre Hillclimbing track where more than 17 teams and 50 drivers will compete to reach the top in the fastest possible time and hopefully without any accidents.

You will be able to experience a vast majority of cars anything from Old school Opel Asconas, VW Corrado, Lancia Delta Integrale,  Audi S1 Quattro and newer models – all cars are represented in the different classes of Group H Special, E1 2000, E1 +2000, E2-SC/SS 3000 and E2-SS 2000 in a total of 36+ cars. For more in-depth details for all car models – please visit https://www.hillclimb-virtual-championship.net/cars/

Normally we would say that all GTR24h races hold great action – but this madness is just another level – Especially when you experience an old Opel Ascona 400 with an Omega Evolution 500 Inline 6 – 3 litre engine with more than 400 hp and rev limit at 9250rpm and an impressive torque level of 381nm – it just screams brutal. Taken that into account and we gonna experience 36 different cars in the Championship – it just tells a story this is gonna be an insane championship for the drivers to both drive and especially to watch for the viewers.

The video above is a taste of what to come – but of course with GTR24h overlays with real weather implemented and great commentary by either Alex Goldsmith,  Ewan Oleary and Yousuf Bin Suhayl throughout the championship of 12 races.

You are watching the famous Gronholm MK2 #321 also known as Nikos Tsaknias, a Greek Driver and a real-life Hillclimbing photographer by heart.

We are extremely happy about the cooperation with rFactor 2 Hillclimbing Championship by John Papas. We do feel the content breath new life into the Simracing Communities and bring fresh content to our Programme – as we hope our viewers will enjoy as much as we already do.   We can’t wait for you to experience the action.  – Jon Fabricius Turell
