GTR24h Spa Francorchamps 2014

Today is the 1st of July, and as promised this means news from us about this years GTR24h.

The last details has been sorted out and we will try to clarify some of the last details about this years race. Some of the points are already known while others will specify some unknown details.

– The event will be held in Harte sportsarena as previous years.
– The event will be held using rFactor 2.
– The carpackage will be based on United Racing Designs endurance X package. It will only consist of GTE cars since no LMP cars exists that delivers the high quality demand.
– The track will be Spa Francorchamps. This is due to the lack of a proper circuit de la sarthe, and the fact that we run a single class setup. This will bring some excitement that la sarthe will lack without the LMP cars.

The tickets will be released as of today 8.00pm. Just as last year you will be able to save some money on your ticket if you order before 1st of September. We will be limited to 20 cars on the grid, so please register your car as soon possible. Please be aware that this year you have to buy your pitspot for each car participating.

Please have a look and our brand new website, but keep in mind that it is not 100% finished.

We will release the Regulations and open for our server within the next 48 hours. When the server is open, you can get the new cars and track by joining our server, which will be available in the rFactor 2 lobby. Please read the Regulations in order to get the password for the server.

About The Author

Peter Munkholm
When John Nielsen won Le Mans 24-Hours in 1990, Peter was hooked with motorsports. He started sim racing on his uncles PC with Formula One Grand Prix by Geoff Crammond in 1992. Then progressed through IndyCar Simulator and IndyCar Simulator 2 on his Amiga 500+. When he bought his own PC in 1994 and a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro Joystick he was already deeply in love with sim racing. His first skirmish with light modding was a Pernod Anis blue, white, and red skin for IndyCar Racing 2. He was hooked! But sim racing really kicked off for Peter with Sports Car GT in 1999. And with internet access and what felt like an ocean of mods. Sports Car GT and the F1 simulators with endurance racing mods swallowed most of his spare time. Then the GTR mod for F1 2003 arrived on the scene, from some Swedish dudes who called themselves SIMBIN. That would change everything! Right about then was also when Logitech steering wheels reach a state of useful. So when the GTR game officially released Peter bought a Formula Force GP wheel the same day, went home and founded the Danish Grand Touring League (DGTL). In 2006 the first LAN event was held. This became GTR24H in 2007. As they say. The rest is history!
