Asetek SimSport joins the EEWC LeMans season finale and 2022 season

Asetek SimSports is a newly founded company, which is heavily involved in producing sim racing peripherals including Pedals, upcoming wheelbases, and wheels – is now joining the Endurance eRacing World Championship series as a team.

The Asetek eSport team holds names such as Valdemar Eriksen, Largim Ali and Thomas Vilhemsen – who all are experienced sim and real-world drivers.

Valdemar Eriksen is the team boss, having real-world experience through the ADAC GT Masters with Belgium’s Team WRT, currently piloting an Audi R8 V10 LMS. He is also the son of Andre Eriksen, who is one of the best Danish entrepreneuers in the hardware manufacturing tech industry.

Valdemar’s father Andre Eriksen is also the founder of Asetek which is one the world’s largest manufacturers of water cooling systems for PCs, servers, and data centres. The latest journey Asetek has embarged on is it bet into the sim racing industry as a manufacturer of sim racing gear such as pedals, wheelbases, wheels, and plenty more to come.

With Asetek’s entry into the series, we already know they will use their races to beta test new equipment, thereby adding experience to the team going forward, and much more. Asetek SimSport will be competing in the championship in the GT3 field of cars against teams such as Unison Racing and Glam Racing.

Largim Ali, who is the second driver to the Asetek squad, has been racing in real life in Rotax karting, Denmark Super GT & Formula 4 and Supertourisme V6. His depth of skills at a young age will assist in both performance and consistency.

The third and final driver is Thomas Vilhelmsen, who is also a real-world driver and sim racer by heart – Thomas will also add more experience to the Asetek SimSport team and give insights to help the team in the Championship.

The Asetek Simsport team will be joining the championship in the GT3 class, running in the 2019 Audi R8 GT3 EVO variant, using race number #585. We are really looking forward to seeing their livery very soon, and what abilities they showcase in the EEWC itself. They will be making their début at the EEWC LeMans 2021 Grand Finale from October 27th -31st 2021.  We wish the newly founded team the best of luck at LeMans and the new upcoming season.
