Finally we are able to announce the setup of GTR24h 2016!
As it happens, this will be the 10th running of our beloved event. We are continuing our efforts from the previous couple of years, of improving the whole setup around the event.
Keeping GTR24h on the edge of what you can experience as a Simracer is no small task, but each year we strive to make incremental improvements with great effects. As with the race itself organizing GTR24h is a marathon, not a sprint! Stay tuned for several pieces of news, for this year.
With the scene set let’s jump into the hard facts all of you have been waiting for:
- Like last year, we will be using the Circuit de la Sarthe made by Simon Jones, brought to rF2 by Jeppe Rasmussen. Jeppe helped us by providing the track last year, but did so at the very last minute. This year Jeppe has had the time to make some needed improvements and final tweaks to the track, bringing the circuit to an overall much higher standard. We are really looking forward to racing on the high-quality work of Simon and Jeppe.
- In the LMP class we are providing the Audi R18 E-tron Quattro, the Toyota TS040 Hybrid and the Porsche 919 Hybrid in 2014 specification. The cars will generally be the same as last year, but will receive some small updates to graphics and physics, before the event.
- In the GT class, we will be running the GTE cars from the URD EGT mod again. These will be the newly released v2.0 cars with brand new physics, and not our own physics from last year.
Therefore every participant will be required to own the URD package. Everyone who has already verified their URD purchase last year will receive the server password by email, when we open up the server for free practice very soon! New drivers have to fill out the form, on our website.
We are happy to once again deliver a high quality event, but there is only so much WE can do – It also takes dedicated and enthusiastic participants to make this event as special as it always is! Hellp us spread the word!
We are very much looking forward to seeing all of you, veterans and new faces alike, in Kolding later this year!
Gentlemen – start your engines!
