A New Era For GTR24H

A New Era For GTR24H

Big changes are coming to GTR24h. For starters, teams will no longer have to pay any sign-up fees. And hopefully soon teams will even get a share of the licensing and sponsorship deals that GTR24H secures for our series! But that is a topic for future debates.

TLDR: It’s free but conditions apply …

We’ve been working non-stop to make the EEWC free to enter for over a year, and we’re incredibly excited to finally be able to do this. For now, teams should expect to have their EEWC entry fees refunded, provided that they accept a new contract with GTR24H. Already signed up teams will be individually contacted as soon as possible. And don’t worry, there won’t be any exclusive contracts. From today teams will have to apply for participation on a contractual basis for each series. What does that mean?

From now on, you will have to apply for the new season with your driver lineup, including media such as driver profile pictures, biographies, videos etc, so that we can promote you and your drivers more. There will be more specific information once the application terms and process is sorted.

And there will still be prizes to win. Even cash prizes …

So. Basically your team will get a free entry into the series you apply for and in return, you and your team has to fulfil obligations towards our common goals on a one- to three-year basis.

As a partnering team with GTR24H, it will be mandatory for you to write articles and create content about your team and your time with GTR24H. We are going to be putting in a tremendous amount of work into creating content around you and your team and growing the series to give you the best experience possible, with the most marketing potential and exposure of any sim-racing series in the world, so we need your help to do it!

We’ve also been working on better ways to implement your feedback and maximize consistency within our series. This has led us to create a new GTR24h Teams Council, made up of all the team managers. This council will appoint a chairman to handle communication between the teams and GTR24H; and convene once a month to debate suggestions for changes. You will then be able to present one change to the GTR24H Board of Directors, where a vote will then take place. The Teams Council Chairman and each board member has one vote each, and if the vote goes through then the needed change will go through immediately.

This council should give teams the option to raise any frustrations with the series and argue their case with the other teams. If the majority of the teams agree, you will have a strong case when presenting the suggested change to the GTR24H Board.

Now you may be thinking: This sounds very serious; they will only be looking for the professional teams now! Let me stop you right there. We don’t care how fast or slow you are, all we care about is good racing and your story! All teams have a story to be told, whether it’s the privateer hobby team at the bottom of the standings or the fully professional sim racing teams, it doesn’t mean your story is better or worse.

We are looking for commitment, determination, and engagement, not lap-times and results!

We will let you know when the application process is ready.

We’re ready for new, exciting times at GTR24H, are you?
