With the 2019 EEWC well behind us, planning and changes have been going on in the organisation. We are aiming to continue our dedicated work to bring sim racing forward as an Esport. We are working hard on bringing in more people to help us and forming bigger alliances.

Apart from the obviously needed changes both on rules and execution of our events, we have new partnerships in media as well. But our focus right now remains on securing the budget to bring 2020 to new levels. One part of achieving this is changing the championship from a single race to a season. So this year the EEWC will be the final race of the GTR24H Series.

Many thoughts and ideas have been formulated and analyzed concerning this decision. First and foremost we didn’t want to do something that already existed in the sim racing community. We never wished and never want to be considered competitors or seen as competing with other organisations that run similar content. We want to contribute to the variety of racing options available to the community. This is why all the races are 24-hour races.

The reason for us changing the format to a season and not stand-alone races is because we want to give you more races, we want to produce more content around the races, we want to tie more history and fandom to the teams. Sim racing needs profiles and more quality content. We have set the goal for the company in 2020 to do our very best to expand on this need. More race means more options to grow fandom and following. Not only for us but for the participating teams as well.

You will surely hear more about the plans for 2020 in the near future. For now, the ticket sales are open, and we will start off with an early bird price, lasting until 1/1 2020.

We hope for good reception of our changes and look forward to working with you in the coming year.
